Independent Stave Company Begins Synergistic New Partnership with Kentucky Bourbon Barrel
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August. 3, 2017) – Independent Stave Company and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel are pleased to announce a new partnership to further serve their respective customers. Following an investment, Independent Stave Company is now co-owner of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel and plans to work alongside the company’s founder Tim Ratliff to continue building on the company’s success.
Located in Louisville, an important crossroads for the bourbon industry, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel is known for the quality of its used bourbon and whiskey barrels, which are sold around the world to impart desirable aromas and flavors to a wide range of spirits. Independent Stave Company, also a family-owned business, crafts new oak barrels and other world-class cooperage products destined for the spirits, wine and brewing industries.
“This investment will enable us to further support our existing clients by providing access to sought-after, previously-filled barrels offering unique nuances thanks to the original and sometimes exotic liquids the barrels have aged. Tim Ratliff will continue to serve as president and co-owner of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel, working with Independent Stave Company to build upon a strong foundation while also expanding the company’s sourcing and distribution networks, especially in international markets.
