ISCO Purchases Forested Acreage In Southcentral Kentucky
Independent Stave Company (ISCO) has closed on 8,016 forested acres in the Southcentral region of Kentucky, near the town of Somerset. The land was purchased for its abundance of mature stave quality oak logs. Over the next several years, ISCO Log Procurement will work with local loggers to sustainably harvest wood from the land to supply the company’s stave mill facilities in Kentucky and the adjacent states.
Donation from Cooperages 1912 Continues to Benefit Students through the Wine Industry Scholars Program at Sonoma State University
Summer 2021 will mark the fifth year of Cooperages 1912’s scholarship donation to the Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State University. Cooperages 1912 has donated $10,000 per year for the past five years to the Wine Industry Scholars Program (WISP), which began in 2017.

Stefanie Fernandez usually spends her work week in the finance office of Independent Stave, a company that manufactures oak barrels for bourbon and other spirits, headquartered in Lebanon, Missouri. But once every week or two since in December, Fernandez has trailed her son into his middle school when she drops him off for classes. She checks in at the office, collects a binder of “sub notes,” and reports to a classroom.
Independent Stave Company and The Boswell Family Continue Alzheimer’s Funding with Research and Chapter Donations Totaling $200,000
In a continued effort to aid the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease, Independent Stave Company and The Boswell Family recently donated a total of $200,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association. The donation will be divided between the clinical trial “DIAN-TU Tau Next Generation” and local Alzheimer’s Association Chapters in Missouri and Kentucky.
